Thirty-six frames, no screen

Two or three rolls on every wedding day, shot alongside the digital work. No preview, no second try – which is exactly why the frames that come back look like the day felt.

The cameras

Three bodies, all older than the couples

Canon EOS 5
Canon EOS 51992 · 35mm SLR50mm f/1.4 · 35mm f/2

The workhorse. Fast autofocus and a proper meter, so it keeps up with a ceremony and a dance floor without me thinking about it.

Olympus OM10
Olympus OM101979 · 35mm SLR50mm f/1.8 manual

Fully manual and completely quiet. This is the one I use in the small rooms in the morning, where a shutter is the loudest thing in the building.

Olympus XA2
Olympus XA21980 · pocket rangefinder35mm f/3.5 fixed

Lives in a jacket pocket all day. It comes out for the in-between frames – the walk to dinner, the cigarette outside, the table at two in the morning.

The stocks

What is in the bag

Four stocks, chosen by the hour rather than the venue. I load whichever matches the light I am standing in.

Fuji 200ISO 200 · colour negative

Cool, clean and honest. Daylight ceremonies and anything green – gardens, parks, the lake in the afternoon.

Bright daylight
Fuji 400ISO 400 · colour negative

The same palette with room to move. Overcast mornings, church interiors, and the hour when the sky cannot decide.

Cloud, shade
Kodak Portra 400ISO 400 · colour negative

What most of the portraits are on. Warm, forgiving with skin, and the reason film frames read softer than the digital ones beside them.

Portraits, golden hour
Kodak Portra 800ISO 800 · colour negative

For after dark. Candlelight, string lights and the last hour of the party, without a flash flattening the room.

Evening, indoors

Adding film

Two rolls, already included

Nothing to add and nothing to decide – film runs alongside the digital coverage on every collection. More rolls, or a whole day on film, we plan into the timeline.

01Before the day
Choosing the right film

I select the film stocks based on the weather, lighting conditions, and locations planned for your wedding. Every choice is made to get the best possible results.

02On the day
Film is always within reach

I keep a film camera with me throughout the day, with a second one ready for the ceremony and portrait sessions. Film and digital work together to tell your story.

03After the day
Developed, scanned, refined

Your film is professionally developed and scanned in high resolution. I make subtle adjustments when needed, preserving the natural colors and character of each film stock.

A gallery of its own

Your film photographs will have their own dedicated section within your private online gallery, making it easy to explore and enjoy them separately from your digital images.
